The shades store was so busy during Covid covering windows, the anniversary celebration was delayed. Many people and businesses can relate to celebrating delayed milestones personal and business celebrations. The 35th Gemini Blinds Anniversary started off with great eats, refreshing beverages, and ended with a store photo shoot. In addition, Gemini Blinds renovated the store showroom recently with new Hunter Douglas window treatment displays, office desks, and furniture.

Gemini Blinds Owner, Howard Sklar recalled how the window treatment business has evolved since the days of Venetian blinds. Venetian blinds were once a part of the company name. Many blinds and shades were made from PVC materials like verticals. Mini blinds were similar. Now vertical blinds offer traditional, transitional, to modern styles. For example, Hunter Douglas vertical blinds are now made from designer fabrics and sheers. Skyline Gliding Panels and Luminette® Privacy Sheers are two popular vertical blinds in and around Mamaroneck, New York City and Greenwich, CT.

Cindy Guilianti, Interior Designer at Gemini Blinds discussed further plans to make the showroom more appealing to customers in 2025. “Designer drapery fabrics are a trend in the window treatment industry right now”, said Cindy.  “Pairing Hunter Douglas shades and blinds with decorative drapery patterns or soft treatments like valances provide a full window treatment look”. Custom roman shades, blackout curtains, and motorized roller shades are all popular window coverings. Homeowners and businesses love a complete, designer window treatment look offering a beautiful aesthetic in any space.

Gemini Blinds is so grateful to customers for their continued support.  The blinds and shade shop has some of the most loyal customers in the community. Many customers buy blinds and curtains after moving 3 or 4 times. “We literally watch families grow up as we provide custom window treatment services”, said Howie. It’s neat to see. I can walk into a home and see a young woman or man all grown up after helping decorate their nursery windows.”
